The Last Samurai (sword)

The government has announced a ban on importing or selling samurai swords from April - unless you're able to convince the police you're a "serious collector" or bona fide martial arts supplier.

There was a 12-week consultation (apparently) on the issue, to which 270 people responded. And voila, another item is included to the Offensive Weapons Act.

They should watch Jason Bourne, perhaps we should be adding phone books and soft furnishings to the list too?

Presumably there'll be some very empty shelves in the Leeds Armoury Museum and Imperial War Museum come April? And do those plastic replicas you see in seaside tat shops count too?
